Tornado - Hand-rigged sailing rope / marine rope strap, 6 mm, blue / red / white
The unisex bracelet Tornado * consists of 6 mm double layerd sailing rope with a blue-red-white pattern which is closed by a stainless steel anchor. The rope eyes are studded with silver-plated beads and give the Tornado, along with the iconic anchor closure, its Atlantic finish.
* Tornado:
The tornado was developed in 1967 by the Englishman Rodney March with the help of Terry Pierce and Reg White. At the time, it was talking about taking a catamaran into the Olympic sailboats. In the ISAF elimination race, the Tornado defeated the other boats on the grid and became Olympic for the first time in 1976. In November 2007, ISAF decided against a tornado competition at the 2012 Olympics.
Due to the strain of catamaran sailing, the tornado has long been sailed exclusively by men, but in recent years, mixed teams have been among the best in the world, with the women usually acting as a helmsman and the men as a forwarder.
In order to trim the boat to the sporting needs of today, it was changed in 2000. He got a second trapeze (for the helmsman) and a gennaker with 25 m² sail area, in addition, the sail area of the mainsail on 17 m², the jib increased to 7 m².
The Tornado is a typical catamaran and is usually sailed only on a hull (he "flies" over the water, so to speak). As a result, it has less water resistance and reaches top speeds of over 30 knots. The tornado is between half wind (wind blowing perpendicular to the direction of travel) and raumschots (wind comes from diagonally behind) the fastest.
Crucial to the relatively high speed is primarily that the catamaran can carry more sail area than a massively comparable monohull, as it is able to absorb a larger wind pressure. This is achieved primarily by the high righting moment due to the boat's width. In addition, the righting moment is further increased by moving the team weight (riding, trapeze). This is again more effective on a catamaran than on a monohull, as there is a larger lever arm.
The profiled sails (rotating mast, battened mainsail) increase the aerodynamic efficiency of the sails by another 20%.

Find the right size
For the survey you need a thread and a ruler. Optionally, a measuring tape can also be used.
1. Lay the thread around your wrist so that it circles your wrist once and is tight.
2. Remember the beginning and the end of the thread.
3. Lay the thread next to the ruler, read the length and you have already determined your wrist circumference.
4. Select your wrist circumference from the drop-down menu and we'll make your bracelet the right size.
